May 31 and the weather is nuts

Yesterday was about 28 but a huge storm went through dropping not only the temperature (to 8 today!!) but also a big dead branch. Just missed hitting the trailer, crashed on to the shed roof, barely missing the rhubarb patch.

Part of the tree limb, there's lots more

I took a short video and despite standing under the awning, which fortunately didn't blow away, I got pretty darn wet. Check out the action on the water, all that's missing is hail.

Leaving for Calgary and beyond tomorrow. Forecast: 3 days of rain and cool temperatures. Won't that be grand? Today it's 25 there, figures.

This Year's Trailer Project

Gerry's gone back to the Bahamas so it's time to renovate.  This time getting rid of the hideous dusty rose dinette cushions and valances.

On Mother's Day I cleaned out the wood box and discovered plywood that would do for the back of 2 of the cushions. Rudy cut them to size for me (thanks) and let me borrow his staple gun. I painted the boards to freshen them up and staple gunned the fabric on to the wood. That just left the bottom cushions for which I had no wood and I'm too cheap to buy any. I thought about duct tape, for a minute or two and then realized that I could use the wood that is already there holding the cushions up. I rounded out the corners and finished the whole job this afternoon.

Next, valances, couldn't just leave the windows blank. Took forever to get them down and taking the lovely gold striping off so putting the fabric on will have to wait until tomorrow.

Photo doesn't do it justice (blue isn't showing up properly), Gerry has the camera and the ipad doesn't take great photos in low light. Material cost $40 and I have enough to do something over the blinds in the kitchen and cover a throw pillow or 2.

May

We've had some really great weather, high of 30 the other day! Unfortunately it won't last - high of 11 forecast for Wednesday.

We've taken advantage of the weather having good times raking up the lawn, picking up broken branches, completely cleaning out the wood box and sorting out the trailer.

Gerry took the eyelashes off the convertible about a minute after I took possession of the Prius. I offered them to Sally but she said "they're not me, they're you." Not sure what that means - have I been insulted? I accused her of not having a sense of humour.

So I went in search of a new home for the lashes thinking they wouldn't look good on the Prius since the lights are so slanted.

Two options:
Chris's Smart Car (rejected, no sense of humour again)

Work vehicle of someone we know and love.
The truck is my personal favourite but someone could get fired.

So I had no choice but to put them on my car, slanted or not. Tinkerbell floor mats and a Tinkerbell sticker over the slight dent on the back completes the look.
