To the Yacht Club - A Successful Voyage

We moved Ramblynn to the Hawksbill Yacht Club yesterday where she will spend the summer.

Just to make sure we had enough water in the canal (Roller-Blade Richard says it's shallow) Gerry measured it the day before. I took pictures of the seagulls, and rays (didn't turn out) and waited patiently for him to find a deep hole and fall in (he didn't).
Official measuring pole - boat hook.

We left at 13:15 on a rising tide; half hour later we passed the channel markers, and with Gerry navigating we were into the canal at 4.

I'm not sure if this was really a good idea - I was at the helm and Gerry was the spotter; we all know how good his eyes are. There were a few tense moments when Lowrance proclaimed there was less than 6' and relief when we reached 20' a short time later.

We dawdled along at 2 knots while Gerry got the lines ready and were at the dock at 4:15 (entire trip 1 hour and nothing broke). I've mentioned the times because we took the dinghy back and it only took 15 minutes.

We'll have to go back and remove those fenders, etc. and put more lines on for hurricane season.

Sure looks small against that powerboat.
