April 2011

Left Port Lucaya early April to check out a few motor "yachts" in Florida, didn't buy one - yet.

Flew back to Ontario, with a detour through Saskatoon to visit the girls (unbeknownst to Sally and boy was she surprised, thank you McKenzie!).

I couldn't believe that the weather was great - for April. Sunny every day and not cold enough for even me to whine about it, much. Had a great time, despite my cold, which I passed on, sorry about that.  Visited with Sam, met McKenzie's great family, celebrated Sally's birthday, attended a "Pink Day" rally, shopped, survived going to church and played with Abby -  the cutest little chatterbox, just like her Mommy was LOL.  They trusted me with their new car (and child), no accidents (despite being used to driving on the left) and only got lost once. Abby was no help so I had to call Sally for directions.

Now in Ontario - where it is snowing!!!! Anxiously waiting for Wildwood to open for the season, back to the trailer and back to sailing.

Contrary to popular belief.........

Yes indeed, Gerry is working. I think he gets a bum rap. If a job needs to be done he does it. Sometimes it takes a bit longer than it should, sometimes it's a "work-in-progress" for some time, but it does eventually get done and it usually gets done well.

With Dulcinea gone the dock has been almost jack knifing. The 2 sections were chained together and now after days of slaving in the hot (and I mean hot) sun the docks are now rigidly fastened together. An added bonus is that now there is no awkward and sudden dropping down of one dock and bobbing up of the other when you stepped from one to the next.

Don't let the photo of me working fool you - I only spent a few
minutes filing the rough edge off a 4 x 4. I couldn't take the hot sun
and soon retreated into the shade.

Coming soon a photo of the completed dock and I've been assured that there's more work for me in the final touches. Yippee!

As promised - photos of the improved dock. What a joy to walk on.
