Ontario in December

Where the hell is the sun? I don't think we've seen it in over a week.

Cold, but I guess not cold enough to freeze this little creek at Wildwood. Ventured out to check the trailer and the boat, armed with coffee. Smiling because I'm thinking how much fun this summer will be!

Travelling North

Spent a few days in Hollywood FL. Who knew that pelicans fly in formation?

Missy and I on the beach at a "Full Moon" event. The evening started out cloudy and rainy, yes we got wet. The determined ones (or insane) stayed long enough to enjoy the drumming and dancing and the stars that finally came out.

Not much to say about the drive home, fortunate to have good weather all the way up I75

Alligator Alley - didn't see any :(

Lovely little resort we stayed at along the way.

Strange looking building in Cincinnati.

A Crabby Day at the Beach

No crabs were hurt during the filming of this issue of my blog.

I like to call this one "Oops."

Itty bitty babies.

It's Better in the Bahamas

From snorkeling in the morning (tourists, all ages, colours, countries) to biking in the afternoon to watching the moon rise in the evening - life is good.

Life's a Beach

After 2 days of rain, the temperature fell from 27 to 20 but the sun came out, so we hit the beach. Gathered all this stuff in less than half an hour - no didn't drag it all back (but almost).

Crab

After a day of continuous rain, the sunshine was a welcome sight. Heading for my bike I noticed this shell in the middle of the path. Betty keeps this place shipshape so I knew it had to be a hermit crab.

After waiting patiently (read impatiently) for almost 10 minutes this video is the best I could get.

I thought perhaps it was the stones slowing him down, catching on his shell, so I put him in the flower bed. When I placed him on the leaves he popped out right away and started waving his antennae around. I like to think he was thanking me.

All good things.................

All good things must come to an end, this is the last day of vacation for Chris and Les. We went sailing all afternoon and got a free show from the Unexso dolphins. They had taken 2 of them out for a run in the ocean and stopped to do a few tricks. Dinner and dancing tonight at Unexso -food was excellent and Stevie on the keyboard was great as usual.

A little taste of Bahamas

Doesn't look like much but this little shack alongside the road makes the best food.

They bring the conch here and keep them in the water until needed. Sometimes the conch try to escape but they don't move too fast, so they don't get too far.

Hundreds don't escape.

Preparing conch
Add veggies and spices.

The finished product, yum.

Beach Safari

First stop, Les and Chris's hotel next trip.

Maybe they should have it renovated.

Old Freetown road.

Where's the beach?

Playing horseshoes.

All that's left of the truck on Truck Beach

Fish Fry Wednesday

It's Wednesday night on Taino beach and if you're anybody this is where you're at.

Cooking up our $10 fish dinner (fish, macaroni and cheese, rice and peas, and $2 for sweet potato bread for dessert).

Silly dancing while waiting for our fish.

More silly dancing.

Are we having fun yet?

Les and Chris have arrived. Now what could be more fun than shopping on your vacation? First stop the bottling plant to buy cases of cola (aka mix).

Then it's on to a costco type store to buy a case of orange juice (aka mix).

Then to buy the necessities (aka booze).

We did get real groceries too - here Chris is attempting to buy a loaf of bread but they seem to be out of it. Good thing we were really after hamburger buns, which they did have.

Les decided to let the 3 of us decide what to eat so didn't go into the grocery store, but I hope you noticed he was keen on going into the other stores.
